A year of comebacks.
Okay or maybe just a year of our favorite performers coming out of hiding. The line up for performances at the 2013 Video Music Awards, on MTV is packed with stars.
MTV has the list of performers available on the official VMA site and fans can expect to see several performances of new releases and major hits on the stage.
Lady Gaga is set to perform her new song Applause from the album ARTPOP. Gaga always brings excitement to the show, whether it’s through her unpredictable performances or her daring outfits (Meat dress anyone?). Katy Perry is also set to perform her new song “Roar”. Any coincidence that both of the pop superstars are doing their world premiere performance of their new songs, both of which leaked onto the internet before their set release date, on the VMA stage? Well played MTV.
Justin Timberlake will not only perform something from his two-part album, The 20 20 Experience but MTV http://www.mtv.com/artists/justin-timberlake/ has also announced that he is being honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
Miley Cyrus is also back in action this year. An educated guess would indicate she will be performing her hit “We Can’t Stop”, which recently won Choice Summer Song at the Teen Choice Awards.
New dad Kanye West and "Blurred Lines" singer, Robin Thicke are among the other performers. And just announced, Bruno Mars as well as Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis will be joining the lineup. According to Rolling Stone Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will be performing their song “Same Love”.
The VMAs prove to be one of the most entertaining award shows year after year and this year is already promising to be no different.
Bring on the live television. The excitement begins on Sunday August 25 at 9 pm.
