Shots were fired at the Carver High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Police have confirmed that the suspect is in custody. At least one person was taken to the hospital.

Police responded to a report that there was a shooting at the school at 2:30 p.m. today, reports MyFox8. Winston-Salem-Forsyth County Schools spokesman Theo Helm told the station that the “suspect is in custody.” No further information was released and a press conference was scheduled for later today.

According to News14, at least one person - a 15-year-old - was taken to the hospital. The teen had injuries to the neck and shoulder, but is conscious.

The school was placed on lockdown and the football game against R.J. Reynolds High School was cancelled.

The Huffington Post reports that there was a gun incident at Carver High School in January, when a student brought an unloaded .22 caliber pistol to school. At the time, Fox8 reported that the student was charged with bringing a weapon to school.
