Alex Band, the singer for the rock band The Calling, was reportedly abducted and severely beaten in Michigan this weekend.
TMZ is reporting that Band was in Lapeer, Michigan, where the group was supposed to perform at a music festival. He decided to walk to a store around the corner from his hotel at 4 a.m. Sunday morning. TMZ’s sources say that during his stroll, a van pulled up and those inside grabbed him right off the street and beat him up.
They then drove to the nearby railroad tracks to drop off the beaten singer. A member of the band did notice that Band had disappeared and started to search for him and they discovered him a short time later.
Band’s current condition is unknown. Police are still investigating the incident.
According to MyFoxDetroit, Lapeer police wouldn’t give any immediate details, but said more information would be released on Monday.
The Calling is known for their 2001 hit “Wherever You Will Go” and they recently reunited for concerts after an eight-year hiatus.
