Director Spike Jonze is finally back with his first film since 2009’s Where The Wild Things Are. Jonze’s new film is simply titled Her and the first trailer was released today.
The trailer makes Her look very good. It stars Joaquin Phoenix as a man who just got over a breakup with Rooney Mara, who appears in flashbacks. He has no one in his life until he finds an operating system for his computer with a personality, which includes the voice of Scarlett Johansson. As he begins falling in love with the personality, he also meets Amy Adams (in a wig that makes us miss her red hair) and it looks like he’ll have to decide between a real woman and a voice.
Her definitely looks like a return to form for Jonze, who is best known for the quirky films Being John Malkovich and the Oscar-winning Adaptation. Jonze also wrote the script for Her. Other members of the cast include Olivia Wilde and Chris Pratt.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Her hits theaters on Nov. 20.
