The PG documentary follows the young men on their global tour and tells their story from their humble beginnings, to the UK’s X Factor and their meteoric rise to stardom. The musical biopic plays for one hour and thirty-five minutes. It’s available in 2D and 3D theaters.
A former racecar driver goes on a mission to save his kidnapped wife in Getaway. Forced to follow specific instructions in order to get her back, Brent Magna hijacks a car and is told to kill the owner, but ends up needing her skills in his race against time. Ethan Hawke, Selena Gomez, Jon Voight and Rebecca Budig star in the PG-13 film. The thriller runs for one hour and thirty minutes.
Two former lovers are forced to work together as part of the defense team in a terrorist trial in Closed Circuit. Not only are they dealing with the sensitivity of classified information and a possible conspiracy, but they must also keep their former relationship a secret or risk losing the case or even their lives. The one hour and thirty-six minute thriller stars Eric Bana, Rebecca Hall, Julia Stiles and Jim Broadbent. It’s rated R for language and violence.
A stay-at-home mom befriends a stripper in Afternoon Delight. In an effort to help her new found friend get out of a life of exotic dancing, she hires her as a live-in nanny. This decision changes her life in ways she couldn’t imagine. Kathryn Hahn, Juno Temple, Josh Radnor and Jane Lynch star in the one hour and thirty-three minute comedic drama. The limited released film is rated R for language, sex and drugs.
A depressed 29-year-old returns home to live with her parents in The Lifeguard. Looking to get out of her life crisis and relive her teens, she takes a job at the local swimming pool she worked at when she was in high school. She gets caught up in a love affair with a young man that impacts the lives of her family and friends. Kristen Bell, Mamie Gummer, Joshua Harto and Martin Starr star in the limited released comedic drama. It’s rated R for sex, nudity, drugs and language.
Business gets cutthroat for two women trying to get to the top in Passion. When one takes credit for the other’s idea, things gets serious, even deadly. The limited released thriller stars Rachel McAdams, Noomi Rapace, and Paul Anderson. It’s running in limited theaters for two hour and twenty-nine minutes. The film is rated R for sex, violence and language.
A game of Capture the Flag gets serious in I Declare War. In the limited released film, imaginations run wild when a group of 12-year-olds battle each other in the woods. In their quest to win, friendships are tested and the line between fantasy and reality becomes difficult to see. The unrated comedic adventure runs for one hour and thirty-six minutes.
Zombies and aliens have a second chance at box office glory with the releases of World War Z and Star Trek Into Darkness. The two films will be part of a special double feature available in theaters from Aug. 30 through Sept. 5.
It was a Race against time for many of the films hitting theaters this week. Next week, Vin Diesel returns to the big screen, battling aliens to stay alive in Riddick.
