Audiences will be on the edge of their seats if they venture out to theaters to see this week’s new releases. The thrillers making their debut focus on the tensions brought about by secrets, crime and the lack of privacy from social media technology.
An enthusiastic young woman’s dream comes true when she is hired at a social media company in The Circle. As a rising star at the company, she is asked to participate in an experiment that ends up putting her life and the lives of those closest to her under a microscope. The PG-13 suspense thriller stars Tom Hanks and Emma Watson. It runs for one hour and fifty minutes.
A ladies man finds out that his rich, 80-year-old wife is leaving him for a younger man in How to Be a Latin Lover. Kicked out of the mansion he once called home, he stays with his estranged sister and her young son. While he searches for a new sugar mama, he teaches his nephew the art of seduction. Salma Hayek, Eugenio Derbez, Raphael Alejandro, Kristen Bell and Rob Lowe star in the PG-13 comedy. The limited released film plays for one hour and fifty-five minutes.
Following the death of his mother, a little boy becomes a mute in Voice from the Stone. A young nurse moves into his castle home, determined to cure him. As she tends to him, she is haunted by the mysteries that surround the castle. Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke stars in the one hour and thirty minute suspense drama. The limited released film is rated R for sex and nudity.
Following the death of his parents, an aspiring street magician becomes responsible for his younger sister in Sleight. Struggling for money, he enters a life of crime to provide the means to care for her. When his sister is kidnapped, he uses his magic skills to get her back. The limited released drama is running in limited theaters for one hour and thirty minutes. It’s rated R for language, drugs and violence.
