Two couples who went camping in Idaho discussed their encounters with DiMaggio and Anderson today.
Both couples called authorities after encountering a man and a teenager who seemed oddly out of place.
"When they showed up to the lake it was like a square peg in a round hole - he didn't fit. He might have been an outdoorsman in California but he was not an outdoorsman in Idaho ... Red flags kind of went up," former sheriff Mark John told CBS News .
His tip led authorities to DiMaggio’s missing car.
Rancher Mark Young and his wife, Mary, were on a fishing trip when they met DiMaggio and Anderson at DiMaggio’s campsite.
The FBI is still working the campsite as a crime scene.
“She [Hannah] kinda had a scared look of her face. I just had a gut feeling about him,” Mike Young, who owns a ranch in Sweet, Idaho, said at a Sunday afternoon press conference, the Associated Press reports.
Other strange behavior triggered the Young’s suspicions as well.
"She was trying to turn her face away," Mike Young said.
