Despite the fact that Friends beauty Jennifer Aniston sheds her clothes and grinds on stage in We’re the Millers, the film is receiving lackluster reviews with some critics even urging movie-goers to not waste their money.
Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, We’re The Millers stars former SNL funnyman Jason Suedeikis as a drug dealer who desperately needs a faux family to smuggle a significant amount of pot across the border. Suedeikis hires on Aniston, a stripper, to play his wife, Emma Roberts to play his daughter and Will Poulter to play his son.
Claudia Puig from USA Today calls the R-rated comedy “offensive” and “not funny,” while Bill Goodykoont of the Arizona Republic notes, “We're the Millers" plays like a Saturday Night Live skit that goes on too long,” as quoted by The Hollywood Gossip .
The film received a 30% on the Tomatometer and a 20 fresh rating.
“Loud and annoying? Occasionally. Funny? Sometimes. Likely to be noticed by filmgoers six months from now? Not really,” Ben Keningsberg of AV Club.
We’re the Miller’s hits theaters August 9.
