The L.A. Rising Festival is set to come back in full action next year in Los Angeles, California. An array of bands and artists have graced and rocked hard on the stage. Many concert goers and fans are waiting for the line up to be posted. But the burning question of desire is whether or not Rage Against The Machine will be performing.
Rage Against The Machine is known for their politics as for their music. Lead by provocative and rebellious front man Zack de la Rocha brought the essence of rap with his aggressive, politically charged lyrics. It mixed flawlessly with Tom Morello’s punk, metal, and funk sounds produced with his guitar.
Sadly Rage Against The Machine split up in 2000. De la Rocha announced he was leaving the band on October 18, 2001. He told Rolling Stone, "I feel that it is now necessary to leave Rage because our decision-making process has completely failed," he wrote. "It is no longer meeting the aspirations of all four of us collectively as a band, and from my perspective, has undermined our artistic and political ideal."
Last year Tom Morello voiced his concerns in an interview with Rolling Stone about the band future. Morello said, “Whether or not we ever play music again in any capacity is unknown. I’m grateful for the music we played together and thank goodness the cameras were rolling.” Many wonder if they will ever come back together and do one last show. Morello ended the interview saying, “Every show we've ever played might've been the last.”
The L.A. Rising Facebook page has generated hype and excitement with its posting, “Plans for L.A. RISING 2014 are underway. August 2014 may seem distant, but THE ROAD TO L.A. RISING will NOT be barren. More info to come…”L.A>. Rising.
The festival is still a mystery waiting to be solved. Hopefully Rage Against The Machine can come together and give an epic performance at next years L.A. Rising powerhouse event.
