Since the casting of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey was announced Monday, fans have not been shy in voicing their dislike of the choices.
Yesterday, E.L. James announced that Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam were cast in the lead roles for the film adaptation of the erotic book.
According to New York Daily News, the outcry over the leads was loud enough to get one of the film’s producers, Dana Brunetti, to comment on fan’s fury via Twitter.
There is a lot that goes into casting that isn't just looks. Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc.

Which could be seen as dig at other rumored potential choices for the leads since Brunetti also added, “So if your favorite wasn’t cast, then it is most likely due to something on that list. Keep that in mind while hating and keep perspective.”
USA Today reports that E.L. James also tweeted a response regarding the outlash saying, “To all the supporters, lovers and haters – thank you so much for the passion that you have for this project. You all rock. All of you.”
NY Daily News notes that a large portion of the hate seems to be directed towards the casting of the Pacific Rim star as many had other actors in mind for the role of Grey.
