Following the surprise success of We’re The Millers, the film’s writing team has been hired to work on Horrible Bosses 2, the sequel to the hit 2011 comedy that starred Millers actors Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis.
Last month, it was confirmed that Seth Gordon, who directed the first film, had dropped out after speaking with stars Sudeikis, Charlie Day and Jason Bateman. Green has a busy schedule coming off of the success with Universal’s Identity Thief and is working on an ABC sitcom titled The Goldbergs.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros.’ New Line didn’t have to look very far for a replacement, picking Sean Anders to direct and John Morris as an executive producer.
The duo wrote Millers, which was directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber. Anders and Morris’ other credits include She’s Out Of My League and Hot Tub Time Machine.
TheWrap notes that Anders also directed Sex Drive and Adam Sandler’s That’s My Boy.
Day, Sudeikis, Bateman and Jamie Foxx are all expected to return for Horrible Bosses 2. Original writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein did write an early draft.
Millers recently made it past the $100 million mark and only cost the studio $35 million to make.
