Lucas Black, who appeared in Fast & Furious 3: Tokyo Drift, is returning to Universal’s hit action franchise. But the bigger news for fans might be that Universal is not only planning a seventh film, but is also looking to make eighth and ninth installments.

Deadline first reported that the 42 actor signed a deal with the studio that covers Fast & Furious 7, 8 and 9. That means that for the foreseeable future, Universal will always have a Fast & Furious film in production.

Fast & Furious 7 will follow this year’s enormously successful Fast & Furious 6, which grossed $788 million worldwide. It featured Vin Diesel and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who will both be returning. The seventh film will be helmed by Insidious’ James Wan, whose Insidious Chapter 2 grossed $41 million this past weekend.

The new film was written by Chris Morgan and will also star Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham and Djimon Honsou. Diesel is co-producing with Neal H. Moritz. It hits theaters on July 11, 2014.

Aside from Tokyo Drift and 42, Black’s other credits include Jarhead, Sling Blade and Promised Land.
