An airborne swing ride suddenly lost power at a festival in Connecticut on Sunday, sending its riders falling to the ground.

13 children who were riding the ride at Norwalk’s Oyster Festival were injured in the fall. CBS News reports that most of the 13 children suffered minor injuries while several of them were rushed to nearby hospitals with more serious injuries.

The children with less serious injuries were treated at the scene and released shortly after, according to Reuters. The children’s parents were all with them following the fall.

USA Today reports that the Norwalk Seaport Association, which sponsors the Oyster Festival, released a statement saying that all rides were halted after the swing lost its power.

"The Connecticut State Police Fire and Emergency Investigative Unit is onsite and has authorized Stewart Amusements to reopen the other rides for the remainder of the evening,'' the association added in their statement.

All rides except for the swing ride were reopened later in the afternoon after they had all been properly inspected.
