Aaron Stockard is working with Warner Bros and Ben Affleck on a deal to work on Affleck's Whitey Bulger film's script.

Deadline exclusively revealed that Affleck and Matt Damon intend to push forward with their own movie on Bulger, even as a similar film, Black Mass, looks to be heading to production.

Damon would play the infamous gangster, with Affleck coming aboard to direct. The Argo actor would also possibly co-star along with his brother Casey Affleck.

Cinema Blend notes that though Stockard isn't well known, his previous work includes being the co-writer on Gone Baby Gone and The Town. So no surprise Affleck wants him.

Terrence Winter first wrote the script, but hiring Stockard signals that the script isn't quite there yet and needs to be fixed for some reason.

Whitey Bulger was a fugitive who once was a south Boston crime boss. He was eventually captured in 2011 and was finally found guilty this year.

When the movie was begin production is an unknown at this time since Affleck already has a full slate for a little while. He has to play Batman and direct and star in Live By Night, based off the Denis Lehane book, which is set for 2014.
