The first trailer for Paramount’s Oscar contender this year, Nebraska, has hit the web. The latest film from Sideways director Alexander Payne features Will Forte and Bruce Dern.

Nebraska, shot in black and white, starts in Montana, where Dern receives a letter telling him that he won $1 million and has to go to Nebraska to get it. Forte plays his son, convinced that it is a scam, but is ready to give his father a fantasy. Unfortunately, he tells everyone in town who start fighting over money that might not even exist.

The supporting cast includes Breaking Bad’s Bob Onderik, June Squibb and Stacy Keach.

When the film premiered in Cannes, it earned critical praise and Dern won the Best Actor prize. It earned an R-rating simply for its language. While it was initially scheduled for a Nov. 22 release, Paramount has rescheduled it for Nov. 15.

You can check out the trailer below. It is Payne’s first film since the 2011 hit The Descendants, which earned him the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. Payne does not take a writing credit on Nebraska, which was written by Bob Nelson.
