Amanda Bynes’ lawyer said that his client is mentally unfit to stand trial for her 2012 DUI charge, according to reports.

According to RadarOnline, Bynes’ lawyer, Rich Hutton, filed a document at the LAX Airport courthouse Tuesday morning, in which he said that he did not believe his client is mentally competent to stand trial in the case. As a result, the court could set a hearing to detirmine if Bynes is competent.

TMZ later reported that the judge in the case has transferred the documents to the mental health court. A judge there conduct the hearing to determine if she is competent or not.

Bynes was arrested in April 2012 when she allegedly hit a police car in West Hollywood. She was accused of hit and runs in May and August 2012 and wound up having her California driver’s license suspended.

Since all the driving incidents in 2012, her life has changed. She is still receiving long-term psychiatric care in Southern California. Her mother, Lynn, has temporary conservatorship, overseeing her daughter's finances and health.
