Marvel's Ant-Man film has officially received a summer 2015 release date.
Disney decided to move the release date to the summer instead of Nov. 6 as originally planned, Entertainment Weekly confirms.
The Edgar Wright direct movie is now due out July 31, 2015. The date puts it just after fellow super hero films Avengers: Age of Ultron and Man of Steel 2, out May 1 and July 17 respectively.
Last year at Comic-Con, Marvel showed off test footage for an Ant-Man film, exciting fans.
According to Screen Rant, Sony chose the same date for the next James Bond film, so Marvel naturally decided to move the superhero movie to earlier. The date helps it avoid many other potential blockbuster films.
Currently the only other competition for that July weekend is Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiars.
Details have been scarce for the Ant-Man movie. Shaun of the Dead's Wright is directing and Attack the Block's Joe Cornish helped co-write the film. And the story will not involve Ultron, since the robot is being used as the villain in the next Avengers movie.
