The long lines at Apple stores across the country on Friday translated to record numbers for Apple. The tech giant announced today that 9 million new iPhones were sold in the first weekend and that 200 million upgraded to iOS 7.

“Demand for iPhone 5s has exceeded the initial supply, and many online orders are scheduled to be shipped in the coming weeks,” Apple said in a press release this morning, notes NBC News. The company didn’t say if that number includes phones that have been ordered online and are yet to ship, but if a customer’s credit card was charged, it’s likely that Apple counted it as a sale.

“The demand for the new iPhones has been incredible,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said in the statement. “And while we’ve sold out of our initial supply of iPhone 5s, stores continue to receive new iPhone shipments regularly. We appreciate everyone’s patience and are working hard to build enough new iPhones for everyone.”

According to ABC News, Apple also didn’t breakdown the sales numbers for the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. However, 9 million is a record, since the previous mark was the iPhone 5’s 4 million sold in its first weekend.

Apple also said that since iOS 7 became available, 200 million users have downloaded the free update.

Meanwhile, one of the most talked about features on the new iPhone is the Touch ID, which requires a fingerprint to unlock your phone. While Apple claims that it is secure, according to the BBC, sites have said that you can hack it. The German site Chaos Computer Club claimed to have found a way to bypass the security measures by creating a fake finger with a fingerprint lifted off of a new iPhone.
