Singer Ariana Grande is going to be taking a rest after she suffered a hemorrhaged vocal chord.

Because of her vocal chords, the singer will be cancelling some upcoming appearances until she is healed up, E! Online reports.

"The Way" singer tweeted , "First day off in forever... Vocal rest and watching movies in with my best friend @alexaluria dunno what I'd do without her."

Despite being told to give her voice a rest, the actress went on with a radio interview with KIIS FM Tuesday night, though she used a computer to talk for her.

Though Grande got a bit of bad news, she has some good news to console her. According to Reuters her album Yours Truly debuted on top of the Billboard 200. The 20-year-old beat Tamar Braxton, John Legend and Nine Inch Nails.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, Yours Truly sold 138,000 copies during its first week. Sales were likely helped by "Love The Way," her single with rapper Mac Miller.

Grande is the first female artist with a debut album atop the Billboard 200 since Ke$ha's Animal.
