Billy Ray Cyrus is speaking out about his superstar daughter's music video for new single "Wrecking Ball."
He said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that people should focus on the music and not the nudity, Celebuzz reports.
"I'm a song man. A musician singer songwriter who loves all styles of music. But again ... I come from the old school where it starts with an artist and a song ... colliding if you will ... in a moment where the song, the singer, the producer, the band and the listener become one."
He added, "It wouldn't have mattered if Miley would have worn jeans and a flannel shirt ... a Tux ... or a nun's habit. The song's a smash ... and her performance vocally on the tune reflects her roots and a sheer God given talent."
Cyrus' comments echo what Miley previously said on the matter, to focus on the song and less on her being naked in the video.
Earlier in the week, Lionel Richie reached out in an interview with omg! Insider to the country singer. He offered advice on dealing with a daughter growing up in Hollywood.
Richie would know as his daughter is Nichole Richie, who once struggled with drugs as she spent time in the limelight until she cleaned herself up. "It's one of those things where you have to say, 'Please God let it be over soon.'"
