Singer Bruno Mars has reportedly been chosen to perform the Super Bowl halftime show in February.

No official announcement has been made, but a source told The Associated Press that the Grammy-winner had been selected.

The official announcement is expected at a New York Times Square event on Sunday.

According to the Los Angeles Times, both the NFL and Fox have declined to comment. Miley Cyrus and Janet Jackson were both jokingly mentioned as having been ruled out.

The Super Bowl this year will be played at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

As Bruno Mars is a New Jersey native, he seems like a good choice for the halftime show. Recent performers were Beyonce and Madonna, neither of which seemed like good choices for a halftime show at the NFL's biggest football game.

Mars is currently on his Moonshine Jungle tour, which recently played two nights at the sold-out Staples Center.

The AP notes that the crooner is one of pop music's biggest acts right now, with several hits, including "When I was Your Man."
