Charli XCX has released a video for “SuperLove,” the first single of her second studio album. The name of the album and the details about it are not known, but this new single gives us at least a basic idea of what to expect from it.
The video that was filmed at Tokyo’s Robot Restaurant (according to billboard.com), features Charli XCX having fun with a group of friends and robots. Then ends with her hanging out with a motorcycle gang. The video is visually dominated by flashing lights, laser lights and restaurant aesthetics, which definitely happens to be a fun place to be at. (Pleeeaaase, take me there!)
Now, moving on to the song. “SuperLove” is such a catchy, playful, upbeat, electro pop track with very sensual lyrics, like:
You're whisky, wasted, and beautiful dancing through the fire,
You're such a vision to see.
And a line like:
So give me all of your super love, 'cause my body is so close to you, I'm waiting.
And:
I think your hair looks much better pushed over to one side,
How do you feel about me?
Overall, a very entertaining song with a very playful beat and luscious lyrics, accompanied by 3 minutes and 31 seconds of a fun-packed video.
Check it out!
