Iconic singer Cher proclaimed on Monday that she will launch her North American tour, Dressed to Kill, next year.

The announcement was made on NBC's "Today" talk show a day before Cher's new studio album "Closer to the Truth" is to be released.

"The road is horrible, but the concerts are great," she told, noted Billboard. "I understand why guys in bands tear up hotel rooms and throw TVs out the windows, because it's a very lonely place. The only time you have fun is at the concerts."

It's been over a decade since she last toured North America. The world tour "Living Proof: The Farewell Tour" took place in Oceania, North America and Europe, performing record-breaking 326 shows.

The tour will launch on March 22, 2014 in Phoenix, AZ and will end on July 11, 2013 in San Diego, CA.

Cher's first single for this album, "Woman's World" was released June 18th, 2013. She's collaborated with artists and producers like Timbaland, Mark Taylor and Lady Gaga.
