Singer Christina Aguilera discusses her trip to Rwanda as well as her feud with Adam Levine.
Aguilera tells The Associated Press about how her recent trip to Rwanda in June ending up helping her.
"It came at a time in my life when I really needed to be far removed from anything to do with work or being on camera," Aguilera said. "It came at a time when I needed to sort of experience what's going on with the world beyond entertainment."
In an interview with TV Guide, Aguilera dismisses any claims that she and co-judge Adam Levine hate each other.
"We're both very passionate, but it isn't personal, with Adam. It never has been," Aguilera said. "We're just very strong personalities."
When season 5 of The Voice returns, Aguilera and CeeLo Green come back as judges alongside Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
In her absence, Aguilera took the time to focus on 5-year-old son Max, as well as focus on charity work with The United Nations.
Season 5 of The Voice premiers Monday, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
