Katy Perry’s song “Roar” will no longer be used as the Cincinnati Bengals’ go-to song during home football games due to fan backlash.

Fan’s created their own uproar as the song was used as a pre-game, in-game, and post-game song during a home game at Paul Brown Stadium Monday night, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Bengals fan, Chad Payne, took to Twitter to lament about the song, “The @bengals are going to have to get a better intro song than Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’ #OppositeOfIntimidating.” More complaints over the song flooded Twitter long before the Monday night game was even over.

The Bengals’ announced on Friday that the song would no longer be featured as prominently during games, E! News reports.

Jeff Berding, the Bengals’ director of sales and public affairs, explained the team’s decision, saying football fans expect to hear hard or classic-rock rather than pop music at a game. “Katy Perry is not going to be the last song you hear before the team takes the field,” Berding said.

Perry, so far, has made no comment on the NFL team’s decision.
