Academy Award winner Colin Firth will star as the voice of Paddington Bear, a duffle coat clad bear who goes on adventures based on the hugely successful children books that have sold over 35 million copies. Colin Firth is known for his role as King George VI in The King's Speech, but the actor is more than capable of playing an array of different characters.
The film will be mostly live-action, except Padding himself. Firth told Daily Mail "Paddington will be computer generated, and I will speak his lines with, I suspect, a slight Peruvian flavour." Firth also expressed his concerns with the mo-cap system they will be using to make Paddington as real as possible.
Paddington Bear made his first appearance in 1958 and his known for his love of marmalade sandwiches. According to News Sky Paddington's first outing was in the book 'A Bear Called Paddington' which told the story of the bear as he packed up and left the dreary Peru on an adventure to Britain where he was adopted by the Brown family. Expect to see a similar script to come into play when the film begins production. Fans of both the bear and Colin Firth are getting excited for this film to begin filming later this month.
