After the premiere of Gravity at the Toronto International Film Festival this past weekend, Sandra Bullock's performance in the space-themed film has instantly garnered the reaction from viewers that Bullock should be a definite Oscar nominee.

Bullock, however, may be less enthusiastic of the idea than others. After being asked from a member of the audience at the premiere whether she thought she would receive a nomination for her performance, Bullock's reaction was a bit unexpected, stating that she didn't feel she deserved an Oscar for her performance in The Blind Side. "I still haven't gotten around to having my moment with it yet," she added. "Maybe one day it will come. What it does do is make you realize how hard you have to work to earn it." quotes USA Today.

And it appears that Bullock achieved just that while filming Gravity, as Entertainment Weekly quotes Bullock telling the audience at the Toronto Film Festival, “It was frustrating, it was painful, and it was isolating. But how lucky am I that I got to have all those frustrations, you know, built in?” That’s something people who are in the position these characters are in [would be] experiencing a thousand-fold.”

The dramatic and suspenseful film due to hit theaters October 4th has stunned viewers at its premiere in several categories unrelated to Bullock's performance alone, and is likely to be a contender for many other Oscar nominations including Best Visual Effects. "Gravity is a technical marvel, an optical treat of the highest order," raves Slashfilm.com. Look out for it's release in October and let us know if you think it stacks up!
