Here’s our daily wrap of all things for Tuesday September 17th:

Ben Affleck was announced as the new Batman a month ago and there has been some severe backlash against the decision, including a Change.org petition with over 90,000 signatures. Ben Affleck is finally responding to all the negative criticism surrounding Warner Bros. decision to cast him in the role. "I'm a big boy. If I can handle an Emmy snub, I can handle anything," Affleck told Jimmy Fallon when he appeared on the talk show. Affleck will star in Batman vs. Superman which will be released in 2015.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have officially broken off their engagement. The couple met on the set of The Last Song back in 2010 and got engaged in 2012. Not even a few months later there were rumored reports of a split. Hemsworth was also the subject of infidelity rumors after being seen kissing a woman at the Toronto International Film Festival. Neither of the reps for the couple gave any further details about the reason for the split.

At 42 years old, Mark Wahlberg is finally a high school graduate. Wahlberg dropped out in ninth grade and just received his diploma this June. He secretly hired a tutor on the set of 2 Guns, "Denzel was always asking me what I was doing but I didn't want to share that information with him.” Wahlberg reason for finally going back was his kids; he didn’t want them to not complete their education just because he was successful without his education.
