Officials linked Van Dralan Dixson to an aggravated sexual assault case in a Dallas neighborhood – he may also be connected to nine other attacks in that area.
After being charged with a rape and robbery in Fair Park, DNA tests are being administered to determine if the 38-year-old is guilty of the other cases.
According to the Associated Press, several neighbors reported that Dixson was a neighborhood watch volunteer and walked the streets often.
"He just walks every night, all night," neighbor Billy Washington said. "Every time I would look out my window, or out my door, he was walking."
Although Dixson was captain of his block's watch, patrolling the neighborhood was not a part of his job description.
Fox News reports that the other cases happened in early morning hours dating back to June, when a masked man attacked, robbed and raped women walking through the fair grounds.
Dixson is being charged with aggravated sexual assault and deadly conduct, a $1 million charge, which could increase.
Officials are offering a $15,000 reward for information that will benefit the case.
