George Clooney has said he won't be giving Batman advice anytime soon to Ben Affleck.

Since it was announced last month that Affleck had signed on to be Batman in the Man of Steel sequel, the response from fans has been - let's just say - less than enthusiastic.

Everyone from Joss Wheedon to Matt Damon have come to Affleck's aid, voicing support for the Argo actor. Previous Batmans have even voiced support, including Val Kilmer and Adam West.

Clooney was recently asked by Empire about Affleck and the actor shied away from openly supporting him and instead offered more of a 'wait and see' approach, Cinema Blend reports.

Clooney admits, "I am the least qualified person to comment on anyone playing the role of Batman since I so terribly destroyed the part."

The Batman and Robin actor then offers, "I tend to look at it like this - let's just see what the movie is before everyone starts beating him up." Affleck "is a smart man, he knows what he is doing."

Clooney is in the upcoming Gravity with Sandra Bullock, which opens in theaters Oct. 4.
