Gillian Anderson is set to star in Tennessee Williams' most famous play.
The former X-Files star will play Blanche Dubois in Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire.
The Guardian reprts that the production will be directed by Australian director Benedict Andrews.
Andrews has had former success with his play Three Sisters.
Artistic director of The Young Vic, David Lan, explains that Three Sisters was "one of the most talked about shows of recent years. I expect no less of this great combination of artists."
"Some of the finest writers, actors and directors in the world are at the heart of our 2014 season," Lan said.
Anderson was nominated for an Oliver Award for her work as Nora in Henrik Ibsen's 2009 London production of A Doll's House, The Associated Press reports.
Anderson currently stars in the BBC thriller The Fall, which premiered earlier this year and has been renewed for a second season.
A Streetcar Named Desire is set to hit the London stage in the summer of 2014. No official dates have been announced.
