Legendary car salesman and pop culture icon Cal Worthington has died at age 92.
According to Reuters, the Oklahoman car dealer passed on Sunday in Orland, Calif. while watching football.
Worthington was most famously known for crazy television commercials where he told viewers he would do various things if they would just "Go see Call."
In one commercial, he stood on the wings of a biplane as it flew upside down. Many of his commercials also featured his "dog, Spot," though the animal was not actually a dog. Sometimes the animal was a tiger, a pig, a hippopotamus, and once even a killer whale.
The Washington Post notes that during Worthington's lifetime he sold over a million cars and was the top-selling Dodge salsperson in the 1960s.
Before becoming a celebrity, he was also a World War II pilot. Reuters reports that he flew combat missions over Europe during the war.
His crazy commercials eventually led to his being asked onto shows like The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Made in America, a 1993 movie starring Ted Danson, has the actor play a character who resembles Worthington.
According to his attorney, Larry Miles, Worthington was still flying planes.
