Hugh Jackman almost played Wolverine in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man.

The Australian actor revealed in an interview with Huffington Post he nearly had a cameo in Spider-Man.

"In the first 'Spider-Man' - Kevin Feige reminded me of this - we really tried to get me to come on and do something, whether it was a gag or just to walk through the shot or something."

"Problem was, we couldn't find the suit. The suit was stuck in something," he adds.

IGN reports that the actor also talked about how Darren Aronofsky was set to direct The Wolverine, but left the project before any filming began.

The X-Men actor did note that he was happy with the product director James Mangold made, he wonders about how it might have been with Aronosky at the helm.

"He had some ideas. But, the truth be told, people say how different this was from Darren's vision. And Darren, because of 'Black Swan,' hadn't really got into it that much."

Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in next summer's X-Men: Days of Future Past

HuffPo notes that Jackman is next seen in Prisoners, which hits theaters Sept. 20.
