James Franco and the distribution company behind Spring Breakers have launched a controversy campaign to get an Oscar nod for the film.

Franco and A24 films are asking the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to consider nominating the film and Franco’s performance, with a spokesperson for the film company saying in a statement “James Franco has created a character so indelible it deserves recognition.”

In a poster they made up, Franco’s character Alien stands in between Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson, holding up two Oscars. The bottom says “Best Supporting Actor James Franco,” and “Consider this sh-t,” which is a nod to his character who says that phrase throughout the movie, NY Daily News reports.

"James Franco has created a character so indelible it deserves recognition. We are excited to be able to support it with a campaign and know the impact of Alien will last far past this awards season,” A24 told The Hollywood Reporter. "We plan to create an awards campaign that is thematically consistent with the film itself."

Spring Breakers also stars Selena Gomez and Rachel Korine.
