There were two things surprising about Jon Hamm’s appearance at the Emmys on Sunday night - his beard and his raspy voice. The Mad Men star has revealed that he’s set to undergo vocal cord surgery, but he said in a recent interview that he’s “fine.”
On Thursday, the Mad Men star spoke with The Associated Press and said that he’s “fine,” adding that it is a “simple injury” caused by using his voice too much. “Because I talk a lot,” he said.
As we previously reported, Hamm said he will have surgery to remove a polyp. His rep told E! News that it is a standard outpatient procedure.
Aside from his vocal cord problem, he’s “healthy as a horse,” Hamm told the AP.
Hamm and the rest of the Mad Men crew aren’t returning until next year for the first half of the final season. However, you can catch him and Daniel Radcliffe in A Young Doctor’s Notebook, a series that aired in the U.K. and is making its U.S. debut on Ovation Wednesday.
