Katy Perry released a jungle-themed music video for her single “Roar” today.

The video begins with Katy Perry emerging from a firey plane crash on a jungle island. Perry encounters tigers, alligators, spiders, and monkeys, as she tries to survive in the wilderness. By the end of the video, she has become the queen of the jungle, taking a flowery jungle throne with animal subjects at her feet.

Perry described the video as a cross between Lost and Survivor.

She said had a blast filming for the video, in which she got to play with the animals on set.

According to E News, Perry said, “We are shooting with some very well-trained, very well-mannered animals. One monkey is named Ripley, believe it or not!”

The music video comes soon after “Roar” made the number one spot on the Hot 100, passing the previous spot holder “Blurred Lines,” according to idolator.

“Roar” is the first single off of Perry’s upcoming album Prism, which will be released October 22.
