The nominees for this year’s Soul Train Awards have been revealed, and rapper Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with the most nominations.
Lamar was nominated for six awards. Justin Timberlake, Miguel, Robin Thicke, Chris Brown and Tamar Braxton are all tied with five nominations each.
Lamar is nominated for some of the nights biggest awards, such as best new artist and album of the year for good kid, m.A.A.d city.
CBS News reports his collaboration with Drake, "Poetic Justice,"will also compete against Robin Thicke, Pharell and T.I. for"Blurred Lines," Rihanna for "Diamonds," Chris Brown’s "Fine China,” Tamar Braxton’s "Love and War" and Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z’s “Suit & Tie” for song of the year.
Those competing for album the year are Lamar, Timberlake, Miguel, Jay-Z, Rihanna and Fantasia.
The Soul Train Awards will be taped on Nov. 9 at Las Vegas’ Orleans arena and it will be hosted by Anthony Anderson, USA Today.
It will air on both CENTRIC and BET Dec. 1 at 9pm.
