Kirk Cameron's latest film makes makes $2 million in one night.
Unstoppable premiered on 700 screens and sold about 150,000 tickets, making it the most successful event in the history of Colorado's entertainment company NCM Fathom.
"We were hoping for good numbers but weren't expecting this to be quite so exciting," Cameron tells The Hollywood Reporter.
The film was also screened at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. The sold out showing had 10,000 people in attendance. Guests received musical performances as well as a Q&A with Cameron himself.
The film involves Cameron viewing the issues of faith when in the face of tragedy. It was inspired by the death of his Teenage friend.
Cameron's previous film Fireproof grossed $34 million. He told THR that he did not take a fee for his performance as well as no shares of the profit.
The Religion News Service reports that there will be an encore presentation of Unstoppable on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. in select theaters.
Cameron is surrently working on a film about a Little League Baseball team.
