Evonne Derrico gave birth to five healthy babies on Friday, September 6. They are currently in the neonatal intensive care unit at Baner Desert Medical Center in Phoenix. The babies weigh around 3 pounds each and were born after 32 weeks.

Evonne and her husband Deon already have four other children, a 7-year-old girl, a 3-year-old son and 1-year-old twin boys. The couple was not taking fertility drugs at the time of conception, but after four previous miscarriages, she was taking hormones to maintain the pregnancy according to the Associated Press.

While the family’s size doubling within five minutes might be overwhelming, the Derricos are overjoyed. “Excited in an understatement,” Deon told the Associated Press.

The Derricos stayed with the tradition of naming their children “D” names for the babies. Yahoo repoted that the two boys and three girls are named Deniko, Dariz, Deonee, Daician and Daiten. Yahoo also said that the Derricos were not aware of their childrens' genders before birth. Evonne reportedly announced “boy” or “girl” as each baby was born.

Baner Desert Medical Center specializes in multiple births, and according to The Las Vegas Sun, this is the fifth set of quintuplets delivered at the facility this year.

And surprisingly, Deon says he and his wife have not ruled out having more children. "I want as many children as God will bless me with," he told ABC.
