Lauren Zalaznick has quietly announced she is leaving NBCUniversal.
Zalaznick was the programming executive that helped make Bravo what it is today, The New York Times reports.
The exec's decision to leave isn't a surprise as she was moved away from controlling Bravo, along with Oxygen and other networks, to mainly dealing with new, mostly digital business.
NBC opted to slip Zalaznick's departure into a memo and not an official announcement. CEO Steve Burke made note of her accomplishments at the network, but her reason for leaving was not included.
Some NBC executives believe that her departure has to do with an internal power struggle with entertainment executive Bonnie Hammer. Hammer was given a promotion and much of Zalaznick's previous properties.
According to Los Angeles Times, Burke has been pushing out older executives in favor of ones that he has hired.
In the memo, Burke said, "Those of you know Lauren well know she is one of those rare executives that combine great instincts with a true business orientation."
Cesar Conde, former Univision Networks president, was hired to take on many of Zalaznick's current responsibilities.
Zalaznick is said to be staying around during the transitional period and will be around as a consultant.
