Parmount's The Wolf of Wall Street has been delayed.
The Martin Scorsese film won't be ready in time for its November release date, notes The Hollywood Reporter. The delay could hurt its ability to be a potential contender come Oscar season.
Sources are saying the film is currently at 180 minutes and Scorsese and producers are trying to figure out how to cut the running time down. The hope is that they can get the film down in length and have it be ready for a Christmas Day release.
If the film isn't ready for Christmas, then it will get pushed back into 2014. If it is, then Chris Pine's Jack Ryan will be pushed back from its Christmas Day release date to Jan. 17 for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
The Wolf of Wall Street is based on Jordan Belfort's memoir about the excesses of Wall Street, Huffington Post reports. The film stars Leonard DiCaprio, Matthew McConaughey and Jonah Hill.
While the two films are getting pushed back, Alexander Payne's Nebraska has been moved up a week from Nov. 22 to Nov. 15.
