Miley Cyrus gives fans a much more intimate look into her song “Wrecking Ball” in the director’s cut of the video, which is getting much more praise than the controversial video she actually released did.
Cyrus released the video earlier this month and it quickly gained attention because of the 20-year-old’s lack of clothes and on account of the overall sexualized nature of the video.
Now, the Bangerz singer tweeted the director’s cut, which just shows her face close-up and singing to the emotional song. At many points during the song she’s crying and wiping away her tears.
Some reactions have been:
The director's cut of 'Wrecking Ball' is the greatest thing Miley Cyrus has ever done. Stunning. http://t.co/VmgwlW3gMv

The Director's Cut of Wrecking Ball is amazing and heartbreaking...so much better than the original video.

Cyrus told Elvis Duran on his radio show about the original video, “If people get past the point I make, and you actually look at me, you can tell I look more broken than even the song sounds,” Hollywoodlife reports.
“The song is a pop ballad that everyone can relate too; everyone has felt that feeling at some point. If people can take their minds off the obvious and go into their imagination and see what the video really means it is so vulnerable,” she said. Actually, if you look at my eyes I look more sad than actually my voice sounds on the record. It was a lot harder to do the video than it was to record the song. It was much more of an emotional experience.”
