Miley Cyrus has been in the press quite a lot lately, mostly due to her outlandish performance at the VMA's, but now it seems as though all that press is working out for her. Her new video "Wrecking Ball", which she famously went nude in, has broken the record for most viewed video in a single week on Vevo.
Most of the press about the former Disney channel star lately, has been negative saying that she is out of control and she needs to tone it down. But based on the success she is having their seems to be no reason for that to happen. Her first single "We Can't Stop", was all over the radio, and now her new single is breaking records, so it seems as though this publicity is helping her big time.
CBS News reports that the new video had gotten over 12 million views in the first week, which broke the record which was set by One Directions "Best Song Ever". One Direction's video broke the record that was previously set by Miley and "We Can't Stop".
Miley is set to release a new album, Bangerz, on October 8, and as of right now it seems as though that album is set up for some great success. "Wrecking Ball" is not only breaking records on Vevo, but it is also currently the number one song on the Itunes charts.
As for what Miley is set to do before the album, she doesn't plan on stepping out of the public eye any time soon, as she has been booked to host and be the musical guest on the second episode of Saturday Night Live on October 5, three days before her album releases. Also Time Entertainment reports that Miley is set to have a duet with none other than Britney Spears on her album, as Britney attempts to make another comeback. This duet is sure to create a lot of buzz, and when it finally surfaces, will undoubtedly be heard all over the place.
They say all press is good press, and that is especially true for Miley Cyrus lately. She has caused a stir with her recent actions, whether it be her racy videos or what some deemed an inappropriate performance at the VMA's. But it has all worked in her favor as people can't keep her name out of their mouths, and it has just created that much more buzz for her and will help as her album is set to release within the next month.
