The state shoes for the Miss America pageant’s “Show Us Your Shoes Parade” have been revealed.

The parade will take place this Saturday in New Jersey when the 53 Miss America contestants will wear artistic shoes designed to represent their state as they walk along Atlantic City’s boardwalk, according to The Associated Press.

Some of the shoes that the ladies will wear include Miss Florida’s alligator shoes, which are bedazzled with green rhinestones, complete with the gator’s head and legs. Miss Indian’s red basketball shoes have basketball nets around the ankles and mini balls on the toes. Some of the other shoes will be Miss Arizona’s cactus shoes, Miss New Jersey’s sea shell shoes, and Miss New York’s skyscraper shoes.

John Best, the executive producer of the parade, loved all the shoes, saying he has “53 favorites,” according to NJ.com.

The first Show Us Your Shoes Parade was held in the 1970s, and the shoes have gotten wilder every year. The 2013 parade will step off at 5 p.m. on Saturday, the evening before the final pageant. The next Miss America will be crowned Sunday evening in a national television broadcast.
