Miss Piggy will be together again with Kermit, this time in the Smithsonian Institution's collection of Jim Henson's Muppets.
The Associated Press reports that Cheryl Henson, Henson's daughter, donated to the National Museum of American History over 20 puppets and props.
The donated items were Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, the Swedish Chef and Scooter from The Muppet Show. Bert and Ernie, Cookie Monster, Grover, Count Von Count and Elmo from Sesame Street were donated as well as Boober Fraggle and Travelling Matt from Fraggle Rock.
Many of the puppets donated were the characters' first constructions.
The Smithsonian notes that it already has had Kermit the Frog for 19 years, but he will no longer be alone.
Curator for the museum, Dwight Blocker Bowers, said, "We cannot believe it's finally happened."
"Generations of people grew up on 'Sesame Street,' and Jim Henson had an unmistakable influence on American entertainment as a whole. In many ways, these will be the real jewels of our entertainment collection."
The Smithsonian magazine did a photo shoot with Miss Piggy and Dorothy's Ruby Slippers and the Hope Diamond.
The AP notes that Miss Piggy will be a permanent part of the museum's "American Stories" exhibit in March 2014.
