The independent foursome 'Moving Mountains' have graced listeners ears now for three full length albums and an impressive 4-track LP. With their most recent self-titled release, and their most critically praised album the band announced their hiatus.

According to 'Moving Mountains' Facebook Page the band has only planned three shows before heading in different musical directions. The band will be playing in Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts. 'Moving Mountains' gained popularity while touring with 'Thrice' and 'Animals as Leaders' during 'Thrice's' Farewell tour. Lead vocalist Gregory Dunn explains that the band will be seeking different musical endeavors.

The bands has been critically successful, but not as much commercially. Their first album 'Pneuma' was written while Dunn was still in high school. While their second record 'Waves' changed styles completely to a post-rock sound, and now with their self-titled record, they've settled into an alternative sound. Absolute Punk gave the album a critically high 90% commending it's vocals and musicianship. Although it's sad to see the band split, it's also exciting to see what new things will come for them.
