A script has been ordered by NBC about Hellblazer's main character, John Constantine.
The show, aptly named Constantine is being executive produced by David S. Goyer and Daniel Cerone, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Goyer, who wrote the scripts for Warner Bros' The Dark Knight Rises, Man of Steel and others, has been heavily involved in developing many super hero comics for the screen.
Constantine was brought to the big screen in 2005 and was played by stoic actor Keanu Reeves, Deadline notes.
The character of Constantine is an anti-hero who reluctantly is forced into dealing with dark supernatural beings. He first appeared in The Saga of The Swamp Thing, created by Alan Moore, Jamie Delano and Steve Bissette.
This announcement follows on the heels of the news that Fox will be producing a Gotham series for TV.
It will be interesting to see if it goes to pilot and how close to the comic the show follows. Will Constantine look closer to Keanu Reeves' portrayal or more like Sting, as in the comic?
