The 65th annual Primetime Emmys have come and gone and its host Neil Patrick Harris says he’s done with hosting – for now.
The How I Met Your Mother star took to Twitter to say he’s “looking forward” to not hosting any events for a while.
On Monday, he tweeted:
Emceeing the Emmys was fun, but I’m sure glad it’s over. Looking forward to not hosting anything for a long time.

He also revealed that the broadcast was the most watched in eight years, which makes his “bosses” happy.
Nice! This year’s Emmys had the largest audience since 2005. That makes my bosses very happy. Thanks so much for watching!

CBS News notes Harris, 40, has an impressive resume of hosting big awards shows. The actor has hosted the Tony Awards four times now, and he has two Emmys shows under his belt as well.
Harris got mixed reviews for his hosting duties this year, with an opening that involved past hosts such as Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel.
For the most part, the reviews were positive but the “In Memoriam” segment proved to be more controversial than Harris’ hosting.
