New York Fashion week is in full effect this week. Designers get to showcase their newest designs via catwalk and other means of presentation. I attended a concept presentation called The Line Up. This featured a collaboration of LPD New York and Conflict of Interest NYC. LPD New York is known for its mix of high fashion and American street wear. The idea behind the collaboration is unique. Their fabrics come from lab coats and scrubs that have nontraditional treatments. The line focuses on experimental new treatments on varsity, knitwear, samurai tops, kilts, and much more.

The clothing is casual and the models wear them as if they have been rolling around in the dirt somewhere. There were three platforms in which two models stood in each. The concept gave it a sophisticated look to the street wear. LPD has not been out for long. They have been in the market for about two years. In this little time they have reached praises from Vogue.com, W Magazine, and Elle UK. Famous supporters are J Cole, Rita Ora, and Jay Z, just to name a few.

From the beginning the venue was packed, it was more of a warehouse looking place. People were dressed to impress. Most of them brought a mix of funk and fashion. A guy had blue hair and blue facial hair. Another girl channeled punk princess. Another fan of the brand is Natalia Kills, who came to support the line. Truly a successful night for such young companies.
