While Katy Perry fans are still rocking out to “Roar” and watching the music video repeatedly, PETA is slamming the “California Gurls” singer for including a handful of wild animals in her newest music video.

Animals used for entertainment endure horrific cruelty and suffer from extreme confinement and violent training methods,” a PETA spokesman explains as quoted by The Hollywood Gossip. “They often become stressed and anxious when hauled around and forced into unfamiliar or frightening situations.”

PETA is only upset with Perry’s decision, the animal advocating group is suspecting that Serengeti Ranch as being behind the caring of the animals in “Roar.” The group states that Ranch “has been inspected by the US Department of Agriculture 22 times since 2001.”

A rep for Perry has not responded to the claims and has not confirmed whether or not Ranch was on hand during the shoot.
Perry released the music video earlier this month and has since been viewed more than 65 million times.
